But what does a manager do??!! Generally, the manager will:
- facilitate good communication between the coaching staff and parents
- handle team finances
- ensure that the team is aware of the schedule for practices, games and tournaments
- take responsibility for completing the game sheet at games and enter home scores
- make sure the team has a timekeeper and a scorekeeper for home games
- submit tournament applications
- make necessary travel arrangements for tournaments e.g. block book rooms in a hotel
- negotiate with other teams for exhibition games
- handle general team administrative matters
- organize off ice activities like the team building events / game day experiences and the end of season party
